I honestly don’t remember how I found AuthorsdB.
It might have been a tweet or on Facebook. Or I might have stumbled upon it in my never-ending quest for free author promotion.
I was impressed from the get go!
How many times has that happened to you? Come on. Admit it. I know I’m not the only one who’s been so gullible.
Now before you get your knickers in a twist, I will confess Authorsdb does have a section for Author Services, and yes, in some cases, a fee is charged.
Wait, just a minute, you’re saying. Didn’t she just say everything is free?
Yes, I did.
AuthorsdB does not charge any fees. But the services are not offered by AuthorsdB; they simply allow people to list services they provide. So, if you’re an author searching for someone to help you with a book cover design, or you need some help polishing your manuscript, you just might find what you’re looking for. Heck, they even have a place for agents and publishers who are actively seeking authors.
Really, they do!
The cover for my historical romance, Highlander’s Hope, is part of their current book cover contest. (That’s a not so subtle plug for my book.) I’ve been a featured author too.
The whole premise of Authorsdb is sharing, and I’ve found in this chaotic wonderfulness of becoming a published author, sharing is one powerful tool. I don’t know a single author who wouldn’t benefit from a little free exposure.
