It’s that time of year when we start thinking about the holidays and all that good food we like to eat way too much of. This week, the authors of Romance Writers’ Weekly are sharing our favorite seasonal dish.

One tradition my family has, that goes back as far as I can remember as a child, is serving Waldorf Salad (our family’s version) for the holidays.
I’ve seen several recipes that are a bit different than than the one I use, and I don’t measure anything. But for you, I’ll try to come up with some sort of recipe!
Waldorf Salad

4 medium apples (Fuji, Honey Crisp, Gala)
3 stalks celery
1 cup raisins (dark)
1 cup chopped walnuts (Whole nuts hurt my mouth!)
2 cups Cool Whip (I use the fat free, sugar free kind)
Directions:
Core and chop apples. Do not peel.
Wash and slice celery
Mix all ingredients but Cool Whip together.
Add Cool Whip just before serving to prevent discoloration.
*Green grapes, whole or halved are also great in this.
**You can substitute sweetened whip cream for the cool whip.
There you are, easy-peasy Waldorf Salad.
