I’m back this week! Last week was my final week of teaching third grade and it was nuts! I took the week off from blog hopping just to stay sane. Hopefully, you found your way here from Brenda Margriet’s blog today.
Let’s take a look at this week’s questions shall we? Jami Denise came up with these ones.
1. When writing your novel, do you know how it’s going to end before you write, or do you write from start to finish?
Well, it’s romance after all, so I know there’s going to be a happily-ever-after. I just don’t always know exactly how that might happen.
Even though I’m a pantser, I do write start to finish. I tend to do more plotting before I sit down to write then I did when I first starting writing. That just means I have an idea where I think the story should go today. My characters frequently have other ideas.
2. How do the people you know impact your writing? Are you influenced by friends and family for your characters?
I have some people around me who are supportive, even though they don’t have a clue what it means to be a career author. Or an author at all, truthfully. I’ve found my biggest support actually comes from a couple of readers who’ve I’ve met along the way and other romance authors.
I listen to what others say about my writing, but ultimately, it’s my book. If there’s something I want to keep in the story, I’m going to keep it. I don’t think anyone else influences my characters. I know them so intimately before I even put their names on the page, it would be difficult for me to allow someone who doesn’t know them to influence them.
3. Describe the hero in your current WIP in three words.
Flynn is charming, easy-going, and protective.
He’d be the fellow sitting in the lady’s lap below.
