Happy Tuesday Readers!
Today, we’re taking another peek into what goes on inside this writer’s brain. I have three questions I’m supposed to answer for the group today. Let’s take a peek, shall we?
Scenario: A Hollywood producer is interested in your book. Can you come up with an enticing logline (plot summary of 25 words or less)?
Regency propriety class with Scots boldness in this historical romance liberally dose with humor and a dash of suspense.
For the The Viscount’s Vow I’ve used this one-liner:
Amidst murder and betrayal, destiny and hearts collide when scandal forces a viscount and a gypsy noblewoman to marry in this Regency romance, sprinkled with suspense and humor.
And for The Earl’s Enticement, the final book in the Castle Brides Series (May 28, 1014) I have this one:
Regency propriety encounters Scottish brashness in this fiery historical romance, liberally dosed with intrigue and a dash of humor.
I deliberately have all the tag lines similar so that readers recognize my branding immediately.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I’ve never been a writer who imagines their books becoming movies, so answering this question is a bit of a challenge for me.
I’ve always liked Amanda Seyfried, and she looks quite a bit like how I imagine Yvette in Highlander’s Hope. I could see Peter Facinelli…maybe.
I’d have to know something about the actors beyond just their outward appearance to make a decision I’d be happy with.
Does the storyline of your novel compare with any films out there?
Nope.
Not that I’m aware, at least, but that may be because I watch very little TV and see even fewer movies. Just trying to figure out two actors for the question above tapped all of my knowledge. Okay, I confess, I did look them up on the Internet too.
Other than the typical romance tropes, I don’t know of any film that has the same story. you know, boy meets girl. They have some sort of conflict, both external and internal, which keeps them apart, but in the end, they have their happily-ever-after.
Short and sweet for this week! Trot on over to Eden Ashe and find out whether she’s got anyone picked out to play her characters!
