Forever Betrothed, Never the Bride tickled me, plain and simple. Emmaline (don’t you just love that name?) is a saucy gal, tired of sitting around waiting for her betrothed to finally marry her. She’d missed out on all that woman her age have normally enjoyed as members of the ton because her intended, has decided he’ll never marry.

Emmaline has been in love with Drake…well…forever it seems, and she’s had enough of the waiting. She takes matters into her own hands, and her brother has had enough of the waiting game too. He’s making arrangements for another gentleman to take Drake’s place.
Haunted by the war and nightmares that keep him from sleeping, Drake is afraid to take Emmaline to wife. He doesn’t trust the man he’s become as a result of the horrors he experienced on the battlefield. On the other hand, he’s none too pleased when another gentleman starts paying much too close to Drake’s intended. Despite his best efforts, our hero finds himself hopelessly intrigued and captivated by the enchanting Emmaline.
