InD’Scribe Con!
I’m a bit tardy in posting about my trip to Burbank, California for InD’Scribe Con. Not only have I been trying finish a book for a spectacular project that launches in January 2018 (you are gonna love it if you are a fan of wicked earls!) I’ve had a family medical crisis and that’s taken quite a lot of time.
One of the things I love the most about conferences is the chance to see my author and reader friends. Often, this is the only time we get to see each other. Many of us met on-line via social media and have become the greatest of friends. Then when we get to see each other in person, it’s like a family reunion!
For those who don’t know what InD’Scribe Con is, its the conference sponsored by InD’tale Magazine. The magazine and conference spotlight authors who are self-published and/or who are published through a small press. Many of the authors are hybrid like I am (meaning traditionally and self-published.)
There were two fabulous costume parties (Which is why I’m dressed up again, stuffed into a corset, and wearing fake hair!) and a Reader Rave Luncheon as well. The luncheon was new for this year and a huge success. Saturday was the much anticipated book fair, and many more readers stopped by to say hello. Oh, and I can’t forget the fabulous workshops for authors and readers too! I heard a lot of laughter coming from some of them.
On Saturday night, the RONE Award recipients were announced. ONCE UPON A TRUE LOVE’S KISS, a historical boxed set I coordinated with several other authors took Runner-Up in the anthology category. Such an honor!
Have you ever attended a reader conference? If so, which one. If not, do you ever want to?
looks like a lot of fun!
