Indie Author Friendly-Uncaged Book Reviews
As any author can vouch, reviews are critical to our success, and as readers will tell you, reviews often help them decide which books and authors they are willing to take a chance on.
I have a few absolute favorite sites that I want to share over the next few months. In the comments section, please feel free to recommend other sites you’d like to see featured as well as share whether you take reviews into account when selecting books.
Hopefully, in the coming weeks, readers and authors alike will find one or two platforms they aren’t familiar with.
I’m beginning with Uncaged Book Reviews. Operated by Cyrene Olson, I’ve been privileged to have been a featured author as well as have had several books reviewed by Uncaged.
Here’s what Cyrene has to say…
Uncaged Book Reviews was founded in July, 2016 after the demise of BTS Book Reviews. With free author features and book reviews – Uncaged promotes the Indie and small publishing company authors who need a platform in a very competitive market. It was formed with a new vision that hadn’t been seen in other magazines, the features taking on almost a blog-like feel, with an interview to get to know the author, and then excerpts and reviews to help the authors have their voices heard.
The popularity of Uncaged has soared in its first year beyond initial expectations and the monthly free-to-read magazine receives between 30-35K views in the first month it’s uploaded, and it remains uploaded up to two years. The magazine is supported through advertising, and the costs are reasonable.
In July, Uncaged will announce The Raven Awards, a public based voting system for books that have been represented in Uncaged in the past year. Winning authors will receive a web badge in their category and a certificate emailed to them that they will be able to print out if they’d like.

Great tip, Collette!

My friend and I started a book blog about three months ago. Our following is growing and we are so excited about it. Not only would we love it if you mentioned us in your newsletter, we would be interested in ARC’s from your Indie authors. We read – almost exclusively – Historical Romance. However, I also enjoy Historical Mysteries (shades of Sebastian St. Cyr), and some Cozy Mysteries. So, if you or your Indie friends would like us to review your books — please contact me. Our blog is https://flippinpages.blog/ and our Facebook page is: https://www.facebook.com/flippinpagesweb.wordpress/
