I thought it would be fun to post slightly naughty moments, but nothing that’s not PG!
My lines this week are from Heartbreak and Honor again.
Alexa laid her hand atop his arm, and though her glove, and his shirt and cutaway coat separated their skin, a jolt seared him just the same. From her little start and half-gasp, she’d felt it too.
Lucan would endure the lot, piled in a chaise’s close confines, if it provided the opportunity to hold her. He lowered his head and whispered in her ear. “Alas, I shouldn’t have offered the use of mine, and I might have enjoyed the privilege of your plump bum atop my lap once more.”
I really appreciate your stopping by and commenting!
love that excerpt
Thanks, Denise!
5 Line Friday – from my current historical Regency – “The Only One”.
Four days of trying to secure the duke’s attention, and he avoided her at every possibility. Alex had to get him alone. She refused to acknowledge what happened the last time the two of them were together. Her reaction appalled her. Oh, not the part of seeing him almost naked, and ogling him, and her mouth going dry . . .
The part where she lost her voice. Couldn’t speak.
The opportunity she’d been waiting for, even tried to arrange, and when her very wish arose in front of her, she’d acted like a little girl gawping at her first lollipop.

OMG. I love this! I can’t stop grinning.
And from Royal Regard, this is outright the best wickedness I think I’ve ever written. 🙂
“You said you had no designs on me! You swore by the Knight’s Creed!”
He leaned in to murmur, “I am not a knight, my sweet.”
With less wallflower and more worldly woman, she laughed, “Sir Satyr, I’m sure, charter member of the Order of Rakehells, pledged to lead me down the path to depravity.”
“You’ve caught me.”

Oh, he’s wicked, indeed!
No shame. Not an ounce.
Hrrrm, I posted another, but it didn’t turn up. 🙁 As I was saying… I *love* wickedness! (Yeah, villain junkie here…) Great excerpt.
From ‘Tis Her Season, in the Bluestocking Belles’ Mistletoe, Marriage, and Mayhem, coming out Sunday.
“I will not. You can tie me up and carry me to the church and threaten me with a hot poker, but you cannot force me to speak vows. Not when you don’t love me and never will. Not when you are only doing this out of some misguided sense of honor.”
“Honor?” His head tilted as he took in her dressing gown, no longer limiting his perusal to her face. “I am not sure honor is the word for my intentions, my dear.”

I cannot wait to read this book, Mari!
Not much longer now… 😉
I love this!
Thank you! 🙂
Oh, I do love a wicked, wicked man, Collette! Lots of wicked men on your blog today !! Here is Lord Pennyworth from A PERFECTLY UNREGIMENTED CHRISTMAS being just a little bit wicked.
“Are you always so…”
“Meticulous?” He brushed snowflakes from her hair. His hand brushed down her arm to cup her elbow through her cape.
“Obsessive?” He tugged his glove off with his teeth. With great care for a man with such powerful hands, he brushed the snow from her face.
“Attentive to details,” she said once she finally found her voice. Such a confusing, fascinating man. Confusing made him a man. Fascinating made him a peril.
“It has kept me alive. I don’t like surprises.”
“Everyone likes surprises.” She needed to run, swiftly and with no care for grace or propriety.
“Have you ever awakened in a large grave filled with the bodies of your comrades?”
“Of course not.”
“I don’t like surprises.” He cradled her hands between his and blew his warm breath over her gloves.
“I would not consider something so horrible a surprise, but a shock.”
“Is there a difference?” He pulled her close, her hands trapped between their bodies.
“Certainly.” She gazed into his eyes and had the sensation of waking up and falling asleep in a lightless room all at once. “A shock is unpleasant. A surprise is usually quite nice. Not that you would ever be remotely acquainted with nice.”
Belle closed her eyes. Why had she said that?
A rich rumble of laughter breathed across her lips. His hands locked behind her back. “Tell me, Mrs. Winters.” He touched his lips to hers. “Is this a surprise?” He kissed a snowflake from her bottom lip. “Or a shock?”
