Welcome to another Five-Line FridayÂ
Where authors and readers meet to share and read romance novel snippets!Â
This place was hopping last week!
I saw some familiar faces and a few new ones too. Well, not literally, of course.Â
Please feel free to comment on other authors posts and do share to social media while you are here to help spread the word.
Five-Line Friday Rules
- Five lines of your current work in progress, new release, soon-to-be-released … whatever. (Do keep it as close to five sentences as you can.)
- You are welcome to post buy links too.Â
- PG (I don’t have a warning on my blog about content, so it has to be appropriate for all viewers. I will delete comments that aren’t appropriate or offensive to some audiences. Sorry.)
Here’s another tidbit from Wagers Gone Awry (Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper, Book 1)Â
Blythe, a strange inflection somewhere between irritation and awe in her tone, exclaimed, “You cannot push your way inside, you great looby.”
Drat, Lord Ravensdale—more persistent and annoying than an itch one couldn’t reach.
Still, Brooke’s lip curved at Blythe’s pluck. “Probably the first time the earl’s been called a looby, eh, Freddy?”
Barking, the dog bounded to his feet and then ran up and down the length of the couch, pouncing and yapping.
“Hush, I cannot hear.”

Now you bring it on, and don’t forget all commenters are entered in April’s drawing for a $5.00 gift card!Â
From Chapter 2 of Deception (Demon Hunters #2)
“Your presence has been known almost since the start of the journey. I assume Cullum has ordered you to stop me?” She lifted the end of her skirt, revealing a high boot more suited to riding a horse than having two pull her carriage.
The revelation of her slender leg, even covered by fine leather, diverted him from her question until a long thin blade appeared from inside her footwear, and Lillian’s intense stare drew his gaze up.
“Do you intend to kill me, Miss Dellacourt?”
I hope you enjoyed this little taste. Deception is available for Pre-order:

Very tantalizing!
LOL re the great looby. Here is another snippet from Lady of the Flames — ebook only $0.99. 🙂
A vision swept over Andromeda of both herself and Aunt Mattie lying dead in a ditch, the apparent victims of footpads. Of more innocent footmen murdered. Of English spies tortured and killed.
She couldn’t let *any* of that happen. She had to do something and do it *now.*
(And she does. Right away.) http://www.amazon.com/Lady-Flames-Most-Peculiar-Season-ebook/dp/B00T0JAWLO/
Fabulous, as usual, Barbara!
She stood and turned, staring at the man who faced her, a smile tilting his chiseled mouth upward. She shook her head, then met the dark gray eyes with her own. He reached out his hand and feathered his knuckles along her cheek. She pulled back as if burned, then touched the place where his hand had been, still disbelieving. He had come back. But at what price?

“Do you know how much I love those dresses of yours with all those buttons just begging to be undone? Sexy as all get out. My favorite’s the blue one that’s all little pearls down the front. I’d start here…” He pressed his lips to the delicate notch between her collarbones.

A man who likes buttons…
For those in want of a Viking romance: a snippet from Norse Jewel
His thumb and forefinger found a single lock and stroked the hair down to the
curling tip. Goose bumps skittered across her flesh from the intimate touch.
“What is your name, thrall?” He asked in the gentlest voice.
“Helena,” she whispered.

Oh, love vikings!!
What great snippets!! Here is mine from the last book in The Marriage Game, Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince. I hope you enjoy it.
Miss Margaret Elizabeth Lucinda Featherton, second daughter of Viscount Featherton, glanced down at the missive in her lap. The letters were rounded, much like a child’s would be, but the spelling and grammar were correct.
Dear Miss Featherton,
I pray this letter arrives in time to save you from making a horrible mistake. Lord Tarlington is not what you think him.
I do love the name Featherton, Ella!
For The Love Of A Gypsy
Martine headed toward the center of the clearing.
Five riders astride glorious horseflesh trotted through the entrance. The branches of the trees arched above them in twisted brambles. The mist from the river floated around group in a sheen of white clouds. The horses flared their nostrils and pawed at the ground with their hooves. A maelstrom of dirt swirled about the area, formed around the horses and riders, making them look if they sprouted from the earth in one explosive motion.

Madelyn this sounds fabulous.
Holiday Hearts Awakening (Thank you Collette!)
Long, strong legs took the porch steps in one stride and a golden muscled arm snaked around the little girl. Her eyes jerked up to be pinned by gunmetal-gray eyes narrowed beneath dark, beetled brows.
Her gaze dropped to full lips seamed shut in a hard line slashed across a too-handsome face. Jet black, wavy hair draped across a strong forehead. He must be six and a half feet, she thought as she struggled to push back the last vestiges of her panic attack.
