There’s something a magical about the first kiss. I still remember the first kiss from my hubby.
Today, let’s share that special moment.
Mine’s from Heartbreak and Honor.
“What say you, a trifling reward for my efforts? I’d ask for the honor of a waltz, but we’re not likely to have the opportunity. Perhaps a kiss instead?” He dipped his head, his lips mere inches from hers.
She’d never been kissed.
“A kiss? Ye canna kiss her.” György’s tone turned belligerent. “Ye dinnae ken each other, and ye nae be wed.”
Harcourt grazed her lips with his, a butterfly wing’s wispy touch, no more.
And then she punched him!
I have a Facebook Party coming soon for Heartbreak and Honor’s Release. A bunch of historical authors are giving away good stuff! JOIN HERE

that was fun
Thanks Denise!
I love that, Collette! No cliched swooning, LOL!
Here are my lines (right after the kiss) from my as yet unnamed work in progress. The hero and the heroine’s father are former spies:
He pulled his mouth away and looked down at her, his eyes glistening like onyx. “Perry,” he growled from a place deep in his center, “you are beautiful.”
She felt the words like a slap. He desired her; he wanted her gone. In the games her father’s people played, both could be true. Especially for the men. Not for a minute should she believe his words about beauty.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the posts!
Very intriguing, Alina!
An excerpt from my second book in The Only Series, entitled The One & More:
His words and lips worked like an aphrodisiac racing through her veins, arousing here pleasure points with a heat and lust that was unquenchable,. “I can’t..,ohh…” A cry of protest escaped her parted lips silenced by his mouth that crushed against hers with hunger and anticipation; his tongue filled her and demanded her obedience.
He released her. “No more talk.”

First Kiss !
From “The Only One” by Samanthya Wyatt
He meant to punish, to teach, to frighten. His gaze lowered to her mouth. Her lips parted on a gasp.
He’d send her fleeing for good.
He captured her lips in a forceful kiss.
Her fingers twisted his shirt.
Good God, she kissed him back. With such enthusiasm he was flabbergasted.
Ha! She showed him!
Here is mine from my new release, Death Callers.
“I don’t know about–,” he cut me off with a kiss so gentle, but it held so much emotion that it brought tears to my eyes. He cupped my face tenderly with his hands. They grew rougher as his passion and oust pushed through. I didn’t stop him. Instead I added my own passion, pressing closer to him never wanting this moment to end.

I can picture the tenderness!
Thanks!
I love it, Collette! Hopefully I’m not posting twice. When I hit post comment, it said I’d “timed out”. This is from my newest historical romance, Secrets to a Gentleman’s Heart.
Sparks shot from her eyes. “You incorrigible beast.” She attacked the top fastenings of his waistcoat and drew back. Apparently thinking she could do better, she unfastened the rest and pushed the waistcoat and jacket off his shoulders.
She sat back, her hands still gripping his clothes. Her amber green eyes were nearly black, and they were both breathing hard. A wild hunger welled inside of him.
“Regina.”
He didn’t know who moved first, but their mouths collided.
(There’s more smooching involved, but that ends the scene in the hero’s POV.)

Smooching! LOL. Great scene.
What a teaser!
Well, he will certainly think twice before he kisses her again, won’t he? Or maybe not. It might just be worth it. 🙂
Here is the first kiss from A PERFECTLY UNREGIMENTED CHRISTMAS, my novella in CHRISTMAS REVELS II
“I would not consider something so horrible a surprise, but a shock.”
“Is there a difference?” He pulled her close, her hands trapped between their bodies.
“Certainly.” She gazed into his eyes and had the sensation of waking up and falling asleep in a lightless room all at once. “A shock is unpleasant. A surprise is usually quite nice. Not that you would ever be remotely acquainted with nice.”
Belle closed her eyes. Why had she said that?
A rich rumble of laughter breathed across her lips. His hands locked behind her back. “Tell me, Mrs. Winters.” He touched his lips to hers. “Is this a surprise?” He kissed a snowflake from her bottom lip. “Or a shock?”
His mouth brushed hers with a militant tenderness. Her fascination with his lips had cause now. Merciless, his kiss held winter at bay, held tomorrow and trouble and fear and all reason captive behind barricades of heat, passion, and a gentle persuasion she’d never seen in this man.

Sigh. Love it!!
Hmm. I can’t do a first kiss scene, because that took place years before The Christmas Knot takes place. But I can re-invoke it to some extent. In this scene, Richard and Edwina are waltzing–and remembering a waltz from the past.
Edwina followed his lead, but with stiffness in her posture and a lag in her step. She gazed sternly over his shoulder, refusing to meet his eyes.
“You used to dance better than this,” Richard said.
That brought her head around, but only to glare at him and turn away again, nose in the air.
“I thought we were to let bygones be bygones,” he said.
“That was your idea, not mine,” she muttered, “and it is impossible when you force me to waltz with you.”
That annoyed him enough that he whispered, “You needn’t worry, Edwina. There is no terrace to sweep you away to. There are no nearby bushes to hide in or a wall to―”
“How dare you!” she hissed, but she was trapped, and her furious face and flaming cheeks said she knew it. She would look a fool if she broke from his arms and ran away.

This is a new release. A very short story, which features a character from my Regency series, The Spies of Mayfair. Lord Bartholomew’s Christmas Bride is available free on Smashwords.
“Your hair is wet.” She reached across and smoothed back the dripping lock from his brow.
“Miss Isherwood!” He grabbed her wrist and stared at her aghast. “Has you mother taught you nothing?”
“Life has taught me that manners and conventions are not nearly as important as feelings.”
Bart raised his brows suspecting he was out of his depth. “Feelings?”
“Exactly.” Not at all embarrassed, her mouth was a delicious curve of amusement.
Bart discovered that he still held her wrist. Her teasing maddened him, but instead of releasing her, he tugged her towards him.
He ignored Miss Isherwood’s murmured protest as his arms went around her. Satisfied with how right it felt, he took her chin in his hand, lowered his mouth to hers and kissed her.

Love this, Maggi! I can’t wait to read it.
So many great lines – Here’ my five from my contemporary romantic suspense: MONICA BEGGS
Their mouths were inches apart. His fingers itched to discover the texture of her hair and test the softness of her skin. The heat in her eyes matched the fire in his blood, beckoning to him before lowering to settle on his lips.
Did she want him to kiss her? Finn parted his lips in anticipation.

Aren’t they great, Sheri? Love your snippet.
This excerpt is from my soon to be released novella “The Witch with the Trident Tattoo’.
He wanted nothing more than to kiss her. Her eyes sparkled with reflected moonlight, a fleeting look of yearning passed over her face. He reached out grasped her shoulders and pulled her close. Not a friendly kiss and not a deeply passionate kiss. A tentative, enjoyable kiss. Long enough to take his breath away and leave him wanting more
Oh, that’s splendid!
This is a first kiss from my latest release.
Her Country Heart by Reggi Allder
Before Amy realized what he was doing Wyatt had thrown a towel as a lasso and pulled her to him. His mouth came down to meet hers. Her lips parted to speak but it was too late. His tongue teased hers. She couldn’t pull away from what he offered because she wanted it more than he did.
