Their faces mere inches apart, Blythe couldn’t haul her gaze from the glinting specks in Lord Leventhorpe’s eyes. His focus sank to her lips, and his pupils shrank to pin pricks.
Would he kiss her?
Did she want him to?
Illogically, yes.
Breath suspended, she remained perfectly motionless. Waiting.
Lowering his head, he tightened his embrace an instant before his lips whispered across hers.
They taste even better than they look.
A brilliant light burst behind her eyes, and every bone in her body turned molten. She clutched his lapels certain if she let go, she’d slither to the floor.
He ran his tongue along the seam of her lips, and sighing, she readily capitulated and parted her mouth, eager to taste more of him.
By the way, Happy New Year!

Amore Norton has hidden a dark secret from her husband Barrington, an intrepid barrister at the Old Bailey, in Unveiling Love. Here is the first kiss after admitting it.
“You still want me? Mama was wrong?”
A tremor set in his jaw at the fear in her voice. His blasted pharaoh want-to-be mother-in-law. The tenuous reign on his emotions snapped. “You are mine, Amora. No matter what.”
He lifted her to him and took her mouth. Gentle at first. Soft, so she could send him away. She leaned into him.
Tugging at her robe, he pushed the muslin down her arms. With his record-indexing finger, he hooked the ribbon in her hair and shook free her locks. Raven colored silk now draped her buttermilk skin.
This is how she’d looked on their wedding night. Eyes large, shining in the candlelight, waiting for what he’d do next.
Why wasn’t he the first to behold her?
And the only one. How could he not have known?

This is lovely, Vanessa.
An excerpt from The One & More (The Only One) #2
“No more talk.” He stood, pulling her with him. His hand firmly held hers as they slipped through the billowing sheer drapery into the house. In the bedroom, he ordered her not to move as he swiftly lit candles, releasing their sweet scent. Her eyes reflected moonlight and candlelight. Light and shadow danced upon the walls, weaving a spell of magic. It was as if she were hypnotized; she watched his graceful movements, unable to resist, knowing that in a moment he would be upon her like a spider to a fly.
Thank you Collette, as always, the opportunity to share is appreciated.

Very nice!!
Thanks so much, Collette!! Here is the first kiss from Three Weeks to Wed.
Matt lifted his head and gazed down at her. “You’ve never been kissed before?”
A blush infused her cheeks. “Is it—is it that obvious?”
“No.” Yes, but he wouldn’t tell her that.
She lowered her long, thick lashes, and her unexpected shyness captivated him. “You are perfect.”
Once again she raised her face to him. He leaned forward, breathing in her light, spicy scent. So different from the flowery perfumes other women used. Cupping both her cheeks with his hands, he kissed her again, nibbling her lush bottom lip, teaching her, urging her to open her mouth to him.
Her tentativeness gave way, and she held on to him tightly, returning his kisses with more vigor.

I can’t wait to read this one, Ella!
Keeping her gaze captive, he leaned in and brushed his lips over hers. Her eyes drifted closed before she jolted and snapped them open again.
Her mouth formed a perfect O before she jerked her hand away and whispered, “What was that for? What are you doing?”
“I’m exploring, Natalie.

What a nice way to explore!
Thank you so much for this opportunity, Collette.
You are so welcome, Vanessa! I love reading the snippets.
Thanks, Collette. This is from The Rake’s Irish Lady. The hero is Colin, and it’s his first encounter with his illegitimate daughter, Sylvie.
Where was the woman whose warmth he’d shared earlier? Colin felt about with one foot, hoping for a smaller, softer foot to tangle with, and then tried farther afield with his arm in hopes of a lush breast or thigh. Nothing. “Damn. Where did she go?”
“That is a bad word,” said a firm but childish voice. “If you mean my mother, she went to the apothecary. It wasn’t proper for her to be in the bed with you, and so I told her.”

Poor Colin!
Thanks so much for the opportunity to share, Collette! This is the first kiss in The Last Marine.
Her lips parted on a protest lost against his hungry mouth. He was right, there was nothing civil about him. About this. His mouth was hot and spicy, his lips firm and his tongue did not beg entrance. He swept right in and took.
She gripped his shoulders, meaning to push him away, but instead found herself clinging.
“Kiss me back, Angel.” He nipped at her bottom lip. “You know you want to.”
Prudence almost lunged at him. There was something different about him. Something that made her joints go liquid and her belly get tight. She kissed him, wanting nothing more than to find a way to curl up right inside him and feel.

Thanks Collette. This is from my new release, Lady Hope and the Duke of Darkness. When the duke was introduced, Hope’s composure deserted her. For a long moment, his dark eyes gazed into hers and heated her from head to foot. She’d trembled, lest he speak to her in French. Her skill in the language had improved, but she still made embarrassing mistakes.
He gave a graceful bow. “J’espère que vous apprécierez votre séjour à Paris, mademoiselle. Notre ville a beaucoup à offrir au visiteur, bien que Londres offre beaucoup à une expérience, aussi, n’est-ce pas?”
His voice was rich and low, as if an invitation lay beneath the words. She was stunned, and by the time she’d gotten the gist of his question and gathered her wits to make an appropriate reply beyond a nod, the duke had moved on to greet the next person. She’d never met anyone like him, so tall, elegant, and remote.

Delightful, Maggi!
As always, thank you Collette for the opportunity to share my work with your readers. Today’s lines come from my work in progress entitled Nothing but Time. It’s a Regency prequel to a full length novel I plan to publish later this year:
He held her stare. He was not one to dabble with married women and certainly not one who was associated with a potential business associate. But something about the lady continued to pull at his heart, and for the life of him he could not look away. There was something about her that just seemed sad, and he could only ponder the cause. Why her disposition was important to him, he could not say, and yet, he had a sudden desire to sweep her away and fill her days with happiness…he squashed down the notion of what he would like to do with her nights.
