This is another wonderful blog from Anne R. Allen I couldn’t resist reblogging it.
I was having this very conversation on Facebook a few days go. I had my feathers ruffled because I’ve had people, some of them very close to me, making comments about my
“hobby” and “dabbling in writing” recently.
I’m writing nearly full-time now and have written four books since I first sat at my computer in February 2011. I had two books published last year and another is at the publishers even as I write this. Just this past week, I finished book four (41 days of writing & 71,000 word) and next week, I start book five.
I made PAN, the Romance Writers of America’s Professional Author’s Network within the first two months of releasing my first novel, Highlander’s Hope, and my second novel, The Viscount’s Vow was named 2013 Must Read Historical and is up for the Sneak Peek’s 2013 Must Read Romance.
I have a virtual assistant, author assistant, and I’ve even decided to pursue acquiring an agent. I’m not sharing this stuff to sound arrogant or like a braggart, but to illustrate, my writing is not a hobby.
I think I may of had too much coffee this morning! Or not enough chocolate.
Okay, I’ll stop blathering now so you can take a gander at Anne’s article.
