About this ebook

She was a means to an end…he wasn’t supposed to ever love her.

He lived an idyllic life…

One day, Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore, was a wealthy, carefree lord, courting the woman he intended to wed. And the next day, he’s stripped of all but his title and left with no means to care for his loved ones. When the person responsible for his ruination offers him a solution—marriage to an unwilling and resentful American beauty—he has no choice but to accept. Not if he wants to care for his ailing mother, elderly grandmother, and disabled sister.

Fate dealt her a cruel hand…

Angelina Ellsworth unwittingly committed bigamy, and when she finds herself pregnant, she’ll do anything to protect her baby. Including fleeing to England and marrying a handsome nobleman, every bit as desperate and opposed to their marriage of convenience as she. She agrees to wed Flynn, stipulating two conditions: the union is in name only, and after a year, they’ll go their separate ways. Except, Angelina didn’t count on her first husband, refusing to let her go.

Resentment and anger war with passion and desire…

Flynn risks his life to protect Angelina from the madman pursuing her, but is his sacrifice enough? Can a woman who’s vowed to never trust a man again and an embittered lord find contentment in an arranged marriage neither wanted?

This first book in the Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series by Collette Cameron is one of my favorite reads by this author. I fell in love with both the main characters and their sweetly seductive story. Angelina, raised in America, found out on her wedding night she married a bigamist and then faces repercussions from that choice. To avoid scandal, she fled to relation in England and vowed to never again trust a man or let her emotions make her a victim. Flynn was on the brink of proposing to his ideal choice for a bride when his father loses a large gambling bet and end’s up shooting himself. Angelina and Flynn must each find a way of overcoming what circumstances thrust upon them. They are both kind and caring people. There are moments of terror in their story as well as moments of humor. Flynn is the ultimate protector of those he cares for. I adored him. The cherry on the top of their tale is as the author quoted, “For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also.” I had purchased the original first edition of this work. Fortunately, I received an ARC of the second, enhanced edition. All opinions stated in this review are voluntary and my own.

Triumph and Treasure is book one in the Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series by Collette Cameron. I truly enjoyed this tale of love between Angelina and Flynn. This book covers some unusual topics such as slavery and illegitimacy. Cameron's tale is never predictable. I loved the humor in Angelina's character - caught up a tree? The twists and turns of the plot kept me interested and reading. Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore is a swoon worthy hero. "His tender kiss undid her. Sent her self-control and convictions spiraling crazily. Though hardly more than a whisper, the soft pressure of his lips sent sparks from the tips of her toes to the top of her head." Can't wait to read more. I was given a copy of this book.

Boston, Mass 1818 Angelina Ellsworth..no, she was Mrs Moreau now, could not believe she was married, and to wonderful Charles! But how quickly happiness can turn false and her world crumbled when she found out he was a slave trader and married! Broken hearted but determined, she and her mother decided she would go for a long stay with her Aunt Camille and Uncle Ambrose in London. In London, Flynn, is now the new Earl of Luxmore since he father had just committed suicide, finds out his father gambled away everything right before that final act. What to do? He had his Grandmother, sister and mother to take care of... In a twist of fate, the man who won everything makes a deal with Flynn that if he will marry his niece Angelina, who is now pregnant (yes the bounder!!) he not make good on his winnings and Flynn can keep everything. Collette Cameron has written a book of the heart that has these two amazing people coming together by a twist of fate and their journey to find happiness. As always her characters come alive and pull you into the story to the point of feeling their heartache and joy. Loved this
