TO LOVE A HIGHLAND ROGUE Mayra Findlay and Logan Rutherford were betrothed when she was an infant and he was a young boy. They only saw each other a few times after the betrothal. Several years pass. Logan has no plans to follow through on the marriage and Mayra wants to break the contract because of Logan's lack of communication over the years. Upon his father's death Logan finds out the estate is destitute and the half of the dowry given at the signing of the betrothal contract is now gone due to the spending habits of his vile stepmother. He realizes that he has no option but to follow through on the marriage to Mayra otherwise the dowry would need to be returned. His solution is to marry and use the other half of the dowry to rescue his estate. Mayra's father passed away and due to hard times for her mother and herself and others nearby, they cut back on living standards. Mayra hopes if she can get her betrothal contract canceled she can use the portion of the estate set aside for her dower to restore their circumstances. Mayra was greatly protected through the years and not allowed much freedom. She makes trips into the nearby village, usually with an attendant, and on one visit she meets a handsome stranger. On following visits, she manages to further her acquaintance with the stranger. Unbeknown to Mayra, the handsome gentleman she has been seeing is none other than Logan, her betrothed, who assumed the name of his cousin to hide his identity. He wanted to find out more about Mayra and what type of person she had become before he makes the final decision to marry her, even though he knows he must marry her to avoid paying back the half dowry. Oh, what tangled webs are woven. Mayra ends up falling in love with her gentleman, aka Logan, as he does her. Once Mayra finds out the truth, she needs to resolve what she feels was a betrayal by Logan, and Logan needs to convince her that they are meant to be together. Ms.Cameron pulls it all together and our couple finds their HEA. In all honesty, I do wish the story had been a little longer as I enjoyed the two characters so much. TO REDEEM A HIGHLAND ROGUE I’ve only started reading this second book in the Heart of a Scot series but I am loving it so far. Arieen Fleming is betrothed to a money-loving womanizer. She is determined to catch him in the act so he is forced to call off the betrothal and her dowry is saved. But best-laid plans have a way of going in another direction especially when thwarted by a man like Coburn Wallace. I’m sure I’ll enjoy reading the rest of their story on the road to a HEA and I will come back to later revise this short synopsis. TO SEDUCE A HIGHLAND SCOUNDREL Our widowed heroine, Berget Jonston, had been married to a vile man. Her parents are negotiating the "sale" of her to another degenerate man to replenish their coffers. Berget won't be married again to another vile man so she makes careful plans and flees to Scotland to accept a governess position. Graeme Kennedy is Laird of his clan and is responsible for his elder brother's widow and her two daughters. He is the ultimate protector of family and clan. Sparks fly between Berget and Graeme when they first meet. Graeme doesn't trust her and she doesn't want her real identity discovered. I loved the story of Berget and Graeme. Their character development, as well as the secondary characters, was very good. There were enough added humor and other dynamics going on to keep my interest engaged. Graeme and Berget had pasts that they needed to get beyond. I liked their journey to achieve that. Collette Cameron has a knack for pulling a story together with likable characters, sharp dialogue, and plausible plots. She has certainly done it with this offering, a sweetly spicy romance with a mild heat level.

4 1/2 stars. I enjoyed the emotions and stories in all three books. They were well written, and I had a hard time putting them down. The heroines were strong and determined, and the highlanders were gruff but protective and caring. Take a chance on the start to this series.

Three fantastic Highland romances! To Love a Highland Laird When they meet for the first time since they were children, Logan Rutherford decides that the best way to get to know his betrothed Mayra and what she is like is to pretend to be his cousin Coburn. From here the plot gets a little complicated. He should have given this idea more thought. This is a heartwarming and humorous Highland romance. Mayra and Logan are great characters. She is a sweetheart, kind and caring. Logan still has a lot of the six-year-old boy in him. The dialogue is sharp and witty. The story flows along, entertaining from start to finish. To Redeem a Highland Rogue Arieen Fleming’s plan to end her betrothal to a fortune-hunting, philandering viscount is to get herself ruined. Coburn is handy and handsome, so she turns to him and kisses him. It turns into a very nice kiss. Caught, yes. Ruined, yes. However, things did not turn out as she wished. Coburn is handsome, intelligent, somewhat carefree, and satisfied with his life as Logan’s steward and second in command. Arieen is intelligent and kind, but she is still young and a little self-absorbed. She needs a chance to prove herself. This is a wonderful story that starts a little tense, moves to betrayal and sadness, and becomes happy. There are surprises in the story, some not particularly nice, but the last one in the story is awesome. To Seduce a Highland Scoundrel Berget Jonston has come to Killeaggian Tower to be governess to Graeme Kennedy’s nieces. These two do not get off to a good start. Their first meeting(s) are really funny and for them, totally unimpressive. They don’t trust each other at first. As they spend time together and secrets are shared, they begin a glide into trust and maybe more. There’s a villain chasing Berget, and Graeme is determined to save her. The villain is in for a big surprise. The characters in this story are wonderful. This is a nice quick read rich in detail.
