Once again, the Christian Fiction Historical Society has a fabulous post. This one is about delicious sweets sold in 1896.

I just researched confections for The Earl’s Enticement because Roark has a sweettooth. I wanted him to have a bag of mixed licorices on hand, but unfortunately, black licorice was used for medicinal purposes during the Regency Era, not for candy.
However, my research led to a intense craving for licorice that lasted for two days until my daughter got tired of me talking about how much I wanted some and brought a rather large bag home.
Okay, enough of my jabbering. Here’s the link to a wonderful post by Winnie Griggs.
