WHAT MAKES ME NERVOUS? | COLLETTE CAMERON
WHAT MAKES ME NERVOUS? 1
Not even on my hands and knees with my eyes closed!

This article was originally posted on Hanging With Bells when I visited her blog last week. But, since I know many of you didn’t have a chance to get over there, I’m sharing it again.

So, what are the three things that make me the most nervous?

I’m not fond of heights. At all.
WHAT MAKES ME NERVOUS? 2
Is he smiling? Seriously?
I saw a picture of a footbridge recently that made me woozy just looking at it. Oh two, three, or four stories are fine, but crazy things like those ridiculous glass elevators that zip up and down outside of buildings, or shoestring footbridges suspended over yawning caverns, or itty bitty teeny trails meant for ants along the edges of canyons that no human in their right mind would stick so much as a toe on—forget it.

WHAT MAKES ME NERVOUS? 3
NEVER!!!

And things like skydiving, or rock climbing, or hand-gliding?

Uh-uh. Not happening. Ever. As long as I’m breathing.

Hold on while I take a deep breath. Okay, I’m better.

My number two blood pressure raiser?

You’re going to snicker at this one, but I become an agitated wreck if I have to find someplace I’ve never been before. As a matter of fact, it happened this past weekend. I’m still recovering!

Yes, I have a GPS, two in fact; and yes I know about MapQuest; and  yes, I have a cell phone. I still freak. Because all it takes is one wrong turn, and I could end up *gasp* lost. You see, I have absolutely no sense of direction. I get lost in mall parking lots.

I’m not kidding.

I walked out of a wedding reception with a bunch of guests a couple weekends ago, and while everyone else turned left, I turned right. Good thing I was with other people. I’d still be wandering around trying to find my way back to my car.

Okay, the third thing that makes me nervous:

WHAT MAKES ME NERVOUS? 4
I feel faint just looking at this crowd!
Crowds and parties. I don’t like them. I’m an introvert. Really I am. I can’t make small talk for the life of me. Put me in a room full of people I don’t know, and I panic—in a very composed you-can’t-tell-I’m-freaking-out kind of way. Yet I can stand in a room full of strangers and teach a class. Go figure.

So I if avoid crowded exterior elevators going to an unknown destination, I should be fine. Right?

Naw, cause there’s still spiders. With all their nasty eyes and hairy legs…  No I will not post a picture of a spider. Gross!

Okay, where’s the chocolate?  I need calming.

Yes, this will do nicely.

By-the-way, I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to chocolate…
