We are facing unprecedented times right now. In my lifetime, I’ve never seen the like. I truly hope each of you is safe and healthy during this pandemic. I’m fortunate that as a full-time author, I’ve worked from home for four years. I have an acre, so between my daily 3-mile walks along a wetland and yard work, I’m not feeling too cooped-up yet.
As an electrical inspector, my husband is considered an essential worker, despite his being at a higher risk for the virus. My daughter is a lead school nurse, so she’s still required to provide virtual assistance to her medically fragile students. She’s also working for an emergency, temporary daycare facility for critical care workers as a nurse.
Because I’m also at high risk, they are taking care not to expose me. They undress as soon as they get home and throw their clothing straight into the washing machine before washing their hands and then heading directly to the shower. My husband has always called me the “White Tornado” because I keep such a clean house, but I’m still sanitizing all surfaces every day including, keyboards, phones, knobs, remote controls, and so on.
