Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2018! 

I changed my color theme on my formal tree this year. I’ve always wanted a blue, white, and silver tree, and this year I have  one!  I actually have five decorated trees in the house; four artificial and one real. This is the first full-sized artificial tree for my family though. 

You see, we’ve been redecorating the house, and the living room has new cream carpet. There was no way I was putting a real tree in there and risking ruining the carpeting. I don’t even allow the dachsies in the room, much to their frustration. So after a  “discussion” with the rest of my family, and a promise we could still have a real tree in the family room, we bought our first “big” artificial tree.

Naturally, I had to have a tree with sparkles on the branches, which meant glitter from here to the North Pole when we put it up. I’m still finding glitter in my hair. I kid you not.  I’ll be adding more ornaments to the blue tree each year for a few years. I want more royal blue bulbs and more doves too. 

These are handpainted ornaments on of my readers made for me. Aren’t they gorgeous?

I also have a dozen hand-crocheted snowflakes my mother made for me years ago. They are even more special to me, because she passed way December 4th of this year.
