In this scene, Isobel is escaping her captors, hence the castle image! Poor Yancy, is not happy!
God’s bones!
Yancy gaped, unable to believe Isobel dangled outside the castle from a . . . He squinted. He had no idea what the mismatched glomeration she hung from consisted of.
Isobel would get herself killed.
Silly, brave fool.

Hi Collette, here a snippet from my WIP, whose working title is Lady Louisa. Book #3 in The Worthingtons.
Gideon, Duke of Rothwell, thundered down Rotten Row on the back of his black Murgese stallion. Out of the mist burst a dark bay coming in the opposite direction with a massive dog keeping pace.
What the devil? His horse pranced a bit as he brought him to a halt. “Easy, Faisu. We don’t need that beast tangling with you.
A moment later, a twist of dark hair pulled loose from under the hat, riveting his attention on the other rider.
Oh, this is wonderful, Ella!
Hi, Collette. Here’s a snippet from To Kiss a Rake, which is up for pre-order now and comes out July 29th.
“Your housekeeper seems to think I am going to marry you!” Melinda blurted.
“Ah,” Lord Garrison said, and his wary expression deepened. “Possibly that is because I told her so.”
She clutched the coverlet tighter to herself. “Why? It’s not true!”
“Calm yourself, Miss Starling.” He put up both hands as if to ward off her distress. “Believe me, I had good reason.”

Jolene’s eyes were barely open, and her lips rubbed against the rough bristles of his beard when she spoke. “I have no intentions of having sexual relations with anyone, Maximillian, there’s no reason to.”
Maximillian dropped his hand to her hip and drew it slowly up her side and up the underside of her arm, picking it up as he went and wrapping her hand around his neck. “No reason to, Jolene? How about pleasure? How about two adults giving each other pleasure and filling their desires?”

“Hello Nicole.” His voice was that honey that she remembered.
“Hello Jack.”
He pulled on the cuff of his shirt sleeve with one hand as he spoke. “You look impressive, all tricked out. Money agrees with you.”
A rush of heat swept through her, from stomach up and over her face. She clenched her teeth, a retort of some kind barely held back.
She lifted her head and turned away from him, striding as much as her dress allowed down the hallway toward the ballroom.
Good for her!
