February always gets me thinking about romance; me and a few bajillion other people.
My own courtship prior to marriage was considerably outside the norm. The first bouquet my hubby gave me was a handful of pheasant tail feathers. I kid you not.
Bird butts. I’m not knocking feathers or birds, I’m big fan of both. But for a first bouquet?
A lovely Regency fan like this would have been quite acceptable. |
Now, my favorite flowers are peonies. Fluffy, plump, vibrant peonies. They’re like a supersized rose. And their fragrance? Subtle, sweet, almost fruity. True, They don’t last too terribly long, but they are splendid while they last. . . two or three whole days!
Peach and coral roses are a favorite too. These are both from my yard.
And of course, there’s the blue rose-simply spectacular!
What about you?
What flowers spell romance for you?
